2019 Sports Day

The rain stayed away on Friday for the SJV School House Athletics Day.  It was wonderful to see so many students wearing their team colours and many parents and relatives there to support their children too.  The day began with the 100m and 70m sprints. We saw some very fast races and saw 4 school records broken.   

 They were:

Scott - Year 1 Boys 70m - 12.45 seconds

Olivia - Year 3 Girls 200m - 39.56 seconds

Michael  - Year 5 Boys 200m - 31.25 seconds

Charlotte  - Year 6 Girls 200m - 31.41 seconds

Congratulations on these amazing efforts.

The Year 6 400m race was reintroduced this year and was won by Joshua  and Charlotte 

The activity rotations saw some excellent competition in all events including  vortex's and rubber chickens being thrown a long way, some huge leaps in the long jump pits and some fantastic teamwork in the shuttle relays.

The final results on the day saw Kildare (Gold) hold up the trophy in 2019, closely followed by Padua (Red), Xavier (Green), and Lourdes (Blue).  

Thanks to all the parents who were amazing helpers on the day - the support for the students and the SJV Staff is always appreciated.
