Grade 6 Camp

Grade 6 Camp

Last week from the 12th to the 15th of June, the Year Six Students went on camp to Phillip Island Adventure Resort. We did a lot of different activities like Canoeing, Archery, Initiative course and the Flying Fox. We also participated in Team Rescue, Camp Cooking, Giant Swing and Circutron. All the activities were really fun and we definitely want to do them again at some stage in the future.

On Wednesday we finished our initial rotation and after this we walked to Smith’s beach. We played footy, games and built sandcastles. In the evening we went to see the penguins and it started to rain, then poured!  It was good that we  still got to see a few penguins.

After the Penguin Parade we went back to the Resort and watched the    2017 SJV Concert “Music to My Ears” and had a lot of fun.

On Thursday night we had a talent show for us to watch or participate in. We had some fantastic performances, including singing, dancing, comedy and the last act, which was coincidentally Mr Ru’s, which was clearly the worst of them all!

On the final day we went to the Nobbies, and got to see some miniature waterfalls and the Blowhole. The weather was not as bad as it first seemed but our winter woollies came in handy. After the Blowhole, we also went to a playground but the wind was blowing a gale! We had some lunch there before going back to SJV to meet our parents and go home.

So many fun memories were made and I’m sure all the Year 6’s will cherish this opportunity forever!

A special thanks to Mrs Chan, Mrs Tracey, Mr Hoare, Mrs Russo, Mrs Cooke, Mr Mullaly and Mr Ru for looking after us on camp.

On behalf of the Year Six Students,  Rahul Thomas and Marc Gleadhill.
