Kingswood Families’ Enviro Tip #1
Claire, Chris and Josh Bonasera (Prep B)
Josh was interested in garbage trucks at a very young age, he wanted to know the difference between the red, green and yellow garbage trucks. So he got involved in knowing the difference between general, recycle and green waste at home.
So I guess we like to say, recycle everything.
If you have a sustainable tip for the Kingswood community no matter how big or small, please email it through to baxter.alexandra.a@edumail.vic.gov.au. We would love to make this a regular feature of our newsletter. Some ideas could be composting, lunchbox ideas, food storage, shopping tips, sustainable brands, good documentaries or anything else you can think of!
Thank you to everyone who donated old cans for us to up-cycle into pots last week. We were pleasantly surprised by the huge turnout (roughly 40 students) we had to upcycle pots and so we didn't have enough cans for everyone. The leaders had to think flexibly and alter their plan so we instead made origami plant pots out of old newspaper. This week, we planted pansies in our newspaper pots. These biodegradable pots can be planted straight into our garden at home and we can't wait to see them flower!
In two weeks time we will be using egg cartons in the Green Team so if you collect any during this time, please send them to Miss Baxter's classroom. Thank you!
