Lord Somers Camp

Year 5 Camp
On the 21st of May, the Year 5 went to Lord Somers camp and participated in a range of activities from kayaking to beach games, stand up paddle boarding, to an amazing disco. We also participated in indigenous studies which included spear throwing, fire making and eating berries and leaves. We all had a great time.
Every day was an adventure. Our activities as well as being fun, helped us with skills like teamwork, integrity and persistence. We all had an awesome 4 days at camp. Every day was as exciting and memorable as the next. There were games like limbo and we also danced to songs like Cotton Eye Joe and had a blast.
Charles and Helen, the chefs, cooked us a smorgasbord of food. It was delicious! We got served pancakes, cereal, scrambled eggs... anything you needed for a perfect breakfast. We also had hot dogs, teriyaki chicken and delicious desserts.

Year 6 Camp
When we entered Lord Somers Camp, excitement was shown on our faces. We reunited with the owner of the camp, Alex, and met some of the new L.S.C. leaders. We started unpacking our luggage and set up our cabins.
Groups 1 and 2 camped out on the first night and groups 3, 4 and 5 camped out the next night. Most Year 6s said the couscous they made was disgusting and some said that the camp out was awesome. We had a few new activities like marine discovery and cooking pizza.
At Kingswood's Got Talent on the first night, we discovered that Joel is a great singer.
When we had free time, some students would go play ping pong, while others would chill in their cabins or play on the basketball court.
On the last day, the sixes were split into groups to play Capture the flag while the other group played dodgeball. Unfortunately, it was the last day, and in a blink of an eye, we had to leave Lord Somers Camp.
It was a great camp for our last year of primary school.
