Twilight Carols

On Tuesday 4th December, Kingswood Primary School celebrated the year coming to an end with our annual Twilight Carols.

Every Year level sang a carol and we had special performances from our Musicorp students, Junior & Senior Choirs as well as some brave staff members!  A special thanks to Tom Baeppler who was MC of the event and treated us to a few special songs.

Our students were also lucky enough to receive a visit from Santa who arrived in style thanks to the Springvale CFA.

Bike Ed

Over the last couple of weeks our Years 4-6 students participated in Bike Education. Students learnt how to check that their bikes are safe, road rules and general riding skills. The Year 6 students participated in an on-road bike ride around Dingley. Thanks to the teachers involved and to Mr Kato and Mrs Eeckman for running the program.

Swimming

Our Prep and Year 1 students are currently participating in their swimming program at Kingswim, Dingley. We have had a brilliant attendance rate and the students are enjoying building upon their swimming ability. I would like to say thank you to the Parent Helpers who have been assisting our teachers on swimming days.

School Discos

Last week we held the Year  P-2 and 3-6 Christmas themed Disco’s in the school hall. Students had a tremendous time with the DJ playing some very popular songs! Thanks to Parent Club who made all of this possible through their hard work and commitment.

Year 1 Movie Night

As part of our P-6 camping program, our Year 1 students had a movie night held in Unit D last week. Students were thrilled to come back to school to have a sausage sizzle, popcorn and fruit. They watched a movie with their friends and many wanted to sleepover! You will have to wait until next year for that Year 1!

Prep Interviews

Over the last couple of weeks our 2019 Prep students have each had a short interview with a member of the leadership team. This is a further component of our transition program which helps teachers get to know each student prior to starting at Kingswood for the 2019 school year.

A Little Ray of Giving Initiative

We are once again a drop off point for gifts for the A little Ray of Giving initiative. Ray White Dingley Village will collect all the gifts donated, and deliver them to The Salvation Army.

Over 898,000 children across Australia won’t receive a gift this Christmas. Drop a present under our Christmas Tree and we will make sure it is delivered to a deserving family in our community. Please attach a tag to the gift indicating the age and gender the gift is most suited to and hand into the office. Gifts will be collected Tuesday 11th December, to be delivered to The Salvation Army the following day.

I hope everyone enjoys the festivities of the last two weeks and our graduating students make the most of their last few days of Primary School! Have a safe and fun summer holiday everyone.
