Principal's News

MARK ROBERTSON

Principal

Since our last edition of the Grammar News, we bore witness through mainstream and social media to the atrocities in Christchurch, New Zealand. As an inclusive but widely diverse Community, our hearts went out to all of the families’ victims’, and indeed to all families who have suffered as a result of this senseless terrorist act. Commendation to the Prime Minister of New Zealand, the Rt Hon. Jacinda Ardern, for her clear welfare focus during this major ordeal in her country – many of us were touched by her humane, caring and nurturing leadership demonstrated. God Bless New Zealand and her subjects during this very difficult period.

Passing of Archbishop Stylianos

Our thoughts and prayers were with the Greek Orthodox Community of Australia on the recent passing of His Eminence. Our Parish and Community will be forever grateful for his vision, unequivocal dedication to our faith, unconditional paternal love, patience and spiritual support for the 44 years Archbishop Stylianos served as our Primate. May we all continue to have his Blessings from above and his memory be eternal.

I commend this edition of Grammar News which reflects the abundance and variety of learning experiences for our students this term – including Sport, Drama, Debating, and Academia – enjoy the pictorial representations and scripts from staff and students, reflecting our daily School life as being truly holistic and embracing.

Staff News

I wish to thank Mrs. Kathy Haramis who leaves us at the end of this term, for her unwavering and strong commitment to secure our Junior School team Lighthouse Status for our School in the Leader in Me process [7 Habits]. Kathy has been passionate and exemplary in her implementation of the process over many years, and literally thousands of students, staff and parents have benefited from this initiative. I am pleased to advise Ms. Sarah Caffrey will assume the role of 7 Habits – Leader in Me Facilitator from the commencement of Term 2, and will be ably supported by our Junior School team moving forward.

We farewell Ms. Krystle Styliano from our Out of School Hours Care Program. We thank Krystle for her contribution and wish her well.

May the risen Christ bring all of our families a blessed Easter filled with joy and love.

We welcome all families to Term 2 on Tuesday 30th April.
