Unapproved Absences

Parents and guardians are asked to please approve your child's absences on COMPASS.

It is DEECD (Department of Education and Early Childhood Development) policy that all student absences are accounted for.

If you have forgotten your Compass username and password, please contact Lauren Kelso in the Middle School Office.

Year 9 Health and Wellbeing Day

What a fantastic success Health and Wellbeing Day was. I would like to offer a huge congratulations to every Year 9 student who was happy to move out of their comfort zone and involve themselves in all aspects of the day.

The discussions surrounding resilience: mindfulness, empathy and gratitude were in depth and thoughtful. Students displayed a level of maturity rarely displayed at the intermediate level and this is a true testament to the wider school community and work we are undertaking in this space.

Thank you to the many staff involved in the day, it was a wonderful experience and this was largely due to the enthusiasm and willingness to be involved in all aspects of the day. Liz Nevins, Lauren Kelso and Tyler Phillips worked hard behind the scenes in the Middle School Office and the work of Amy Walton and Michael Bourne as Year 9 Coordinators throughout not only the day, but in the planning period leading up to the day should certainly not go unnoticed.

Finally, a huge thank you to Riana Asta, who worked tirelessly on all aspects of the Health and Wellbeing Day and without her dedication, the day could not have been the success it was.

Year 9 Captains' Report

The end of Term 2 is near and we think everybody is looking forward to the holidays.  Please make sure you have all of your CATs handed in and any work that is overdue, so you can have a relaxing holiday.

Next week, we have LHS THE VOICE blind auditions.  If you think you have what it takes to blow the school away, then make sure you put your name down at the Coordinators Office in the box .

Community Day is coming up Monday 25 June, run by the VCAL students.  The Community Day is a fundraiser for a fairy garden at a local primary school, a homeless project to raise money for people in need, raising money and supplying blankets for an animal shelter and money to build nesting boxes for a local primary school. Make sure you wear bottom half free dress and bring a gold coin donation.  Also, bring along your money for sausages in bread, fairy bread, nachos, popcorn, bacon and egg rolls, brownies and ice cream, toasties and soft drink.

Tuesday 19 June was Regional Cross Country Day, where we had 30 students participating and 9 successful students going through to STATE,  in a months time.

We hope everyone has a great holiday break and comes back rested and ready to go in Term 3.
