Year 10 Career Pathways Day

Lilydale High School is committed to ensuring that each student chooses their VCE Course appropriately and develops a Career Action Plan to achieve their personal education and career goals. 

 

A compulsory VCE Course Selection / Career Action Plan interview is required as part of the VCE Course Selection Process.

 

Year 10 students will be interviewed on Thursday 26 July, at the Lutheran Church Centre, North Road, Lilydale.  

 

Students are not required at school on this day but are expected to attend a 15 minute interview at a specified time.

 

Letters with interview times were posted home this week.

Year 12 Tertiary Information Session

On Friday 1 August,  all Year 12 students will be involved in a 'Tertiary Information' session at Lilydale High School,  during Period 6.

 

The session will present an overview to students outlining the tertiary application process, such as applying for courses through VTAC, applying for SEAS and Scholarships.

LaTrobe University  Experience Clever

Friday 6 July

The greatest insights we gain are through experience – and when it comes to finding out what university life is really like, there’s no better way than at Experience Clever.

 

Experience Clever gives students the chance to not only see the La Trobe University campuses but experience them too – by taking part in fun and dynamic workshops led by real lecturers and teachers. Students get to see inside the La Trobe teaching facilities, particular to the areas of study that interest them.

 

This free event is open to future students and parents.  Registration is essential.

 

Registrations are open and students must please register for which campus, and indicate which study areas they are considering.  Details regarding the location of campuses and maps are also available at the registration link.

Discovering Design at Swinburne

For students curious about the world of design, passionate about learning and interested in a creative future.

 

Tuesday 10  to Friday  13 July

During this creative school holiday program, participants will develop a design portfolio, broaden their problem-solving and design-thinking skills and work in teams, just like a real design studio.  

 

Students will also have the opportunity to meet Swinburne staff and learn about design careers, courses and pathways.

La Trobe Aspire Applications Open

La Trobe’s Aspire Program rewards the skills and knowledge students have gained through community contribution with a conditional early offer.

 

Successful applicants will experience uni life at La Trobe at special on-campus events before their year at university commences.   They will receive support for exams, assistance with VCE revision, attend lectures in the September school holidays, have access to extensive Library and campus resources and participate in LaTrobe’s ‘Enrichment Program’.
