Student Achievements
A reminder that we ask that any parents who have a child who has achieved something special at any time to please take a photograph and write a short sentence or two about what the child did, when it happened and what it means to the child and send this through to the school account at huntingdale.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au
Achievements could be getting an award from the local footy team or ballet performance or library book club or gaining their Grey Wolf Award at Scouts or any other hobby your child pursues we’re here to celebrate Personal Best in whatever form that takes.
Leo 34S
Leo competed in a Ballroom Latin Tots to Teens Dancesport Championship held at the Kingston Town Hall on 22nd July 2018. The championship was organised by the Australian Dancesport Society attracted over 300 kids competitors across Victoria.
Leo results:
1st place (champion) in Latin solo dance under 12 years old category.
1st place Latin junior(under 16) solo
1st place teacher student Latin juvenile
1st place teacher student Latin junior.
2nd place in juvenile ballroom
3rd place in junior ballroom.
Leo is taught by his father and mother who have been awarded All Japan Best Dance Teachers for 6 consecutive years (2012 to current year) by Japan Ballroom Dance Federation.
Leo's father plans to volunteer to teach Latin ballroom dance at Huntingdale PrimarySchool starting on 21st August (total 4 lessons) from 1.50pm to 2.30pm for level 3/4 students ONLY. Lessons will be conducted in Japanese and English.
Siena 56M
Siena in 5/6M competed in the Level 5 National Gymnastics Competition recently.
On her favourite apparatus, the vault she scored a perfect 10, which is an amazing achievement. She also competed in the beam and floor events also coming first. In the bars, Siena came second. Overall she came first in the individual all round event and helped her team finish first. Well done!
Mathieu 56W
Matthieu, from 56W, on Sunday 22 July competed in the Judo Victoria’s 2018 Winter Tournament Team Challenge. It was a great team effort of six
children from different judo clubs who fought their best to earn points for their team. Their hard work paid off as they won the bronze medal.
Billie, Daisy and Max
Billie, Daisy and Max were awarded the Gracie Jiu Jitsu White-Yellow belt in June and July this year. They’ve attended for about 12 months graduating from a beginner Zebra (white and black belt) to now a baby Tiger!
All three are part of the Junior Grapplers age group in Gracie Jiu Jitsu’s Bullyproof program in Burwood. The kids are pictured with the head instructor, Robbie.
