SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS

What a great image of our VCE students applying their knowledge and skills to the practice General Achievement Test (GAT). These are being marked by external VCAA markers who will give students individual feedback.  Students should receive this by the end of the term.

I would like to advise parents/carers of two excellent supports for VCE students to use:

Free ATAR note lectures on weekends during the holiday break. These lectures are presented by teachers and examiners in central Melbourne. Skills and knowledge in each subject area will be reinforced by the lecturer and students receive detailed notes and study plans. It is also an opportunity for NGSC students to meet with other VCE students from around the state. Places fill up quickly so it is important to book as soon as possible.

Free on-line tutoring. This is a program run for regional schools by university students and lecturers. VCE students can email questions or sample answers and are given feedback on their answers and essays. The group, RESN, spoke to Year 11 and 12 students at school this week and students were encouraged to sign up to the website. Students send and receive work via the website, so student privacy is protected.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher Interviews are on Wednesday, 3 April, 2019.

  • All Unit 3 subject/classes, periods 1 to 6, will run on this day and students are expected to attend.
  • After the release of progress reports Monday, 25 March, students and parents are encouraged to book appointments with teachers. This is vital as feedback at this stage of the academic year helps to improve student outcomes.

Thanks for your support.
