Senior School

Somers Camp

By Hannah

On the 18th of February, 10 students from Senior School went to Somers Camp. When we got on the bus we drove for ages. When we finally got there, the camp workers gave us a big welcoming. They took us into the cinema where they sang us some songs and then led us to our cabins. After we finished getting our stuff all set and our beds made, they gave us a book so that every night we could reflect on our day.

Each night we had a fun activity, eg: bush dance, concert, disco, campfire and nocturnal activities with nocturnal animals. Every morning at 7am a bell would ring to wake us up and tell us to get ready. Then another bell would ring for the duty group to report in. We had a timetable for each duty group. Then once we had breakfast we went on with our activities for the day, such as giant swing, flying fox, boating, surfing, archery and more! I enjoyed my time at Somers, it taught me lots of things about sustainability and just great fun!

Celebration Day

By Mia

On the 28th of Feb, we as a school had time to bring in and play board games as a celebration of earning 3000 positive acknowledgements this year.

In Senior we shared our time with the Foundies so it was very busy in our building!  The whole school had their game time at the same time. Some of the games were dominoes, twister and jenga. He had a great time!

Interschool Sport

By Tierone

On Friday the 21st of Feb, the year 5s and 6s had their first match for Interschool sports. The sports we play are: Rugby Tag, Hot Shots Tennis, and Basketball. I am in Rugby Tag. The only team to win that week was Hot Shots Tennis, burt that doesn't really matter, as long as we tried our best and had fun (which we all did)! In Rugby Tag you have a belt with two velcro tags/ If you have the ball and someone gets your tag that counts as a tackle, and then it is the other teams ball. After 5 tags, you are allowed to kick the ball, but it can't go above the referees head, no matter what size the ref is.
