Wipe Out Waste Audit
On the 13 of February, a KESAB in and talked about how much rubbish we throw into each landfill bin around the school in one day.
As you can see, lots of uneaten rubbish was found in the landfill bins around the school. KESAB said that we were doing really well with paper recycling.
We also found out about how much food waist we throw into landfill bins instead of food scrap bins
How to solve it?
Parents. We know you want to save money, so to help that, buy big packs of food, and put it in small containers to save your money, the enviroment, and to save the dolphins.
Buddy Bench
Bianca Holler entered us into a competition to win a buddy bench made of recycled plastic as a reward for the work our school has been doing to be sustainable. Thanks to the excellent entry by Bianca, we were one of the top two entries in the state and we won the buddy bench. Ray from Port Adelaide Coles store has kindly put it together.
The buddy bench is for kids that need help with friendship and general problems. There will be two student mentors each day that will be outside at recess and lunch. They will be willing to help you with your problems. Look for people in the blue vests sitting on the buddy bench. The students that you might see there are Marcus Q, Kurtis T, Aiko M, Jessica B, Jade F, Jasmin T, Abby C, Jackson C, Emma W, Lincoln K, Isabelle W, Ronin B, Jade A, Amelie B, Maddison H.
The buddy bench is made from the equivalent of 8,250 pieces of plastic packaging. It was kindly donated by Coles.
