PARENT INFORMATION

Three Way Conferences

Three Way Conferences will take place on Thursday 19 September. Students should accompany parents for these conferences. 

 

There will be NO FORMAL CLASSES on this day.  

Bookings are made on COMPASS and will OPEN at 9 am on Thursday 12 September and CLOSE at 4 pm on Wednesday 18 September. 

 

SESSION TIMES:

  • 8:30 am – 10:30 am
  • 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • 2:30 pm –   5:00 pm
  • 6:00 pm –   8:00 pm

Please ensure you print off your appointment times prior to the closing time. 

 

Instructions are available on COMPASS and below, outlining the booking process.  Please ensure you use your parent login as student logins do not allow access to bookings.

 

It is suggested that you do not book consecutive time slots, to allow enough time to make your way to the next appointment. 

 

A number of teachers will be absent on the day due to leave etc.  Their names will not appear on your choice of teachers/subjects.  Once all available bookings for a teacher have been made, they will also not appear for selection.

 

Please check COMPASS prior to attending interviews for messages from any teacher who may be unexpectedly absent on the day.

Staff Professional Development Day  -

Students ARE NOT REQUIRED at school.

UNEXPLAINED ABSENCES

Parents and guardians are asked to check COMPASS and approve ANY UNEXPLAINED ABSENCES your son/daughter may have for 2019.

 

Notifying the school of your child’s absence either prior to, or on the day that they will be away, helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and will fulfil your legal responsibility.

 

This system also promotes daily school attendance. Going to school every day is the single most important part of your child’s education, they learn new things every day – missing school puts them behind.

 

Please note, it is DEECD (Department of Education and Early Childhood Development) policy that all student absences are accounted for.

Students EXITING

Lilydale High School 

Parents and Guardians of students who are exiting Lilydale High School are required to complete and return an Exit Form to the Administration Office.

 

We need to know if your child will be undertaking one of the following;

  • Transferring to another school                
  • TAFE (Institute/Course)                     
  • Apprenticeship/Traineeship               
  • Full Time /Part Time Employment      
  • Seeking Employment                        
  • Other reason   

Please note, before a student can leave school, they must satisfactorily complete Year 10 and until the age of 17, they must be in some form of full time training or employment.

 

Training options can include;

  • VCE
  • VCAL
  • Full time TAFE
  • Apprenticeships

Students wishing to leave school before these requirements are met, must put in a request for exemption to the Regional Director in consultation with Lilydale High School.

 

Students in Years 10 to 12 will be required to have a ‘MIPs Exit Interview’ with a MIPs/Careers Counsellor prior to exiting. 

 

School Reports

Once students are removed from current student records at the school, their REPORTS can NO LONGER be accessed via the Parent Portal (COMPASS). 

 

Parents and Guardians are advised to print/download and save the reports for future reference.
