Term 3

We have had a smooth start to the beginning of term 3. We welcome two new staff. Haidee Rowell is teaching 3 days a week in 3D, replacing Ms.O’Donovan.  Briony Beaver is teaching 3 days a week in 4C, replacing Madi Sheather. Also Meg Oudshoorn, together with Teagan Donahue are teaching Prep D, replacing Amy Reid.

Lauren De La Rue got married over the holidays in a lovely ceremony in Bali.   Lauren will now be changing her name to Lauren Power.

State Schools Spectacular

Our 20 students participating in this year’s State Schools Spectacular Performance attended the first rehearsal day on Wednesday 19th July, at Melbourne Town Hall, with Mr. Flanagan and Mr. de Ley. This was an exciting day for the students to be together with the other 1000 students who are members of the mass choir. The students had the opportunity to rehearse the songs they will be singing.

They look forward to 3 more rehearsal days prior to the performance on Saturday 16th September.

City of Casey 360 Bus

This Thursday we have the City of Casey 360 bus coming to our school. This is a great initiative which supports our Year 5 and 6 students with social skill activities. The bus is also available at lunchtime for students to visit and mingle further with peers and the program co-ordinators.

Parent Opinion Survey

Next week, randomly selected families will receive a letter to complete a Parent Opinion Survey. The survey is conducted online. The survey is conducted across government schools, to provide information and feedback to schools. Parent responses are completely confidential. We encourage parents who receive the letter, to please complete the survey. The survey will be open from Monday 7th-27th August. Thank you for your cooperation.

Parent Forum

As part of the School Review currently being undertaken, we invite parents to attend a Parent Forum on Wednesday 2nd August, 9.00-9.45am, at school. This is an opportunity for parents to meet with the three reviewers to discuss how the school, and the learning and social programs offered, support students and parents.

This information forms part of the School Review process and will assist the reviewers to obtain a holistic picture of how Lyndhurst PS supports the academic and social needs of students in our local community.
