La Salle

Term 1
As an exciting, action-packed Term 1 came to an end for La Salle, we are optimistic that we will keep our glory days going heading into Term 2. Firstly, let me introduce myself, Jarrod Amor, as the La Salle House Captain for 2019. I am accompained by Daniel Passante and Miles Bergman as our House Vice-Captains. Congratulations to James D’Abate also for being voted College Arts Captain. Being elected into leadership is a huge achievement for all of these boys.
Over Term 1, La Salle has had its ups and downs when competing in the House Swimming and Athletics Carnivals. After coming ‘furthest from first’ in House Swimming, we did not let that destroy our pride as we came first in the House Atheletics (with many thanks to our House’s junior athletes.) Special congratulations to Lachie Lamble and Joel Harrod for winning individual awards for their efforts in House Athletics!
For House Public Speaking, Daniel Passante (12) and Adam Rabel (11) respresented La Salle with fine efforts on the topic of “How far would you go?” We earned second place overall.
Thank you to everyone who was part of the La Salle Mission Action Day Fundraiser, raising over $1700 for the Outreach Program. Congratulations to Ms. Brenda McCullagh for winning the $500 top prize, and to Jono Vincent for raising an additional $1400 for MAD on his own.
During the first term ACC competitions included Tennis and Cricket. Congratulations to Nick Alexopolous for his exceptional efforts and making it into the ACC Tennis Team of the Year.
Lastly, a La Salle student has also excelled outside the College environment. Recently, Callum Evans has been selected to compete in the Australian Gymnastics Championships. We congratulate Callum and wish him best of luck for the event.
Onwards and upwards for La Salle in Term 2 and beyond!
