Public Speaking

Model United National Assembly

On the 4th and 5th of May, Liam Collins and I took part in the annual Model United Nations conference in the Legislative Assembly of the Parliament House of Victoria. It was an opportunity unlike any other where we were able to represent not only our school but our elected country, North Korea, in a mock UN debate. Each team came in their national attire and were told to think like whoever they were representing. Soon, alliances were formed and ultimately it came down to debating on proposed resolutions that were either passed, amended or denied. Issues such as racial extremism, denuclearisation of the Middle East and trade liberalisation were the topics of debate and overall the experience was brilliant. We would like to thank Ms Doyle, Ms Matthews as well as the Rotary Club of Dingley Village for supporting us in the experience.
