Principal's Report

“Achieving Excellence Together”

Welcome Back!

We have had a lovely, settled return to onsite learning - all the students greeted us with a smile at the gate and expressed how very happy they were to be returning to school (I must say....the parents looked excited)!

Upon visiting the classrooms, I am pleased to see kids interacting so well with one another, and enthusiastically engaging in the learning. The laughter outside is wonderful to hear...things have been pretty quiet around here these past couple of months which is not the way a school should sound.

We did have some slight hiccups at dismissal time at the start of this week but have been able to make a few adjustments and rectified for a smooth dismissal home. We will continue to monitor the situation and continue to make any adjustments needed as the secondary students begin to return to onsite learning.

We have had a few questions regarding devices being brought home each day. The department has advised all schools to ensure students do not return devices till closer to the end of term. This is in the case we need to shut down due to a COVID-19 positive case. In the past some school have been shut for over two weeks and we do not want students missing on any learning. Taking devices home each day will ensure if we are to shut down remote learning can continue.

No doubt the kids will be exhausted this week...our staff certainly are but we cannot wait to do it all again next week.

Book Week

Book Week is next week! The theme is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.

Sadly, we can't do our usual parade BUT we will be having a Book Week dress up day on Thursday 22nd October.  We encourage all students to come dressed up. We will be visiting each classroom and handing out prizes and certificates to the best dressed. Cannot wait to be part of my first book week dress up at Roxy Park.

Sentral for Parents

Our school has Sentral for Parents, a Portal, to provide information about our school. Sentral is our main form of communication. Notices, reminders, Reports and interview bookings will be through Sentral.

Letters were sent home with the required information to register for this communication service.

Many families have successfully registered using an email address and created a password for access. If you have yet to register we highly recommend you take the steps as outlined in the letter that was posted via mail this week.

If you have any questions/concerns, require a new letter or access please call  reception either where we will be able to assist you with creating an account or/and linking your children via the phone.

Stay Safe
