SENIOR ACTION TEAMS – RAISING AWARENESS

This week the Seniors had a taste of the Raising Awareness Action Team and they learnt a bit about the coronavirus and how advertisements are encouraging and informing people on how to stay safe. Students were then given then challenge to come up with their own advertisements to inform people how to stay safe. I have included a few examples of what students have come up with.   As you can see they did a great job!!

Well done Seniors!!!

ART

This term our amazing artistic students have been creating some fabulous artworks.  Over the term the Juniors have been working hard on their collage skills, improving upon their cutting skills, expertly cutting small and large shapes, straight and curvy lines to create their wonderful art.

The Senior’s have worked on their photography skills taking photos using different points of view and angles.  They have also been working on using different colouring techniques such as shading and blending as well as using patterns.

Each week I am amazed at the artistic talent of our students and you will have the opportunity to see this fantastic art in our Digital Art Show later in the year.  Stay tuned for more information over the coming weeks.

Art Club

Next Monday at 2:30 I will be running Art Club for anyone who would like to join.  We will be creating a Monster Mash Up Drawing.  All you need is a piece of paper, a grey lead, a rubber, some coloured pencils or watercolour pencils or watercolour paint. Join me on Google Meets art.

Creative Challenge – Here a few of the drawings that have been added to the Drawing Objects slides, which can be found on the Junior and Senior Art Classrooms.   I think you agree with me that we have some very clever and creative students.  If you think you are up to the challenge, have a go because we would love to see your drawing.

SFS MASTER CHEFS

DID YOU KNOW?

Here are 8 things people have been doing to cope with lockdown

  1. Socialising virtually.
  2. Watching films 7 using streaming services.
  3. Spending more time with people we live with and helping neighbours.
  4. Exercising outside.
  5. Gardening & reading,
  6. Doing DIY & learning something new.
  7. Spending more on food and shopping locally.
  8. Cooking

Recent data shows that cooking is great for our wellbeing and connection with family members.

We would love to see your wonderful cooking creations. Families and SFS staff you have 10 days to send in a family photo showing you either cooking or with your final product. This can be desserts, cakes, treats, cultural food, anything you would love to share with the SFS community. These photos will be shared in the final week of Term 3 newsletter.

Email your photo to Silvana by Monday 7th September.
