From the Principal

Getting READY! Getting SET for ....... Term 4!

Whilst there have been many cancellations this year, we also continue to plan for what will be. We are developing an outline of what the school calendar will look like next term. There is a lot for us to think about from School Photos to Prep 2021 Orientation, from the Sacramental program to Year 6 Graduation!!  We will all need to continue to be agile and flexible as it all depends on the restrictions we need to comply with. However no matter what, we will find a way to celebrate and engage in key events and milestones. We will need to put on our creative thinking and problem solving hats to ensure we find a way to make things special and finish the year in style.

One example of this creative energy is the way we will be holding our 2020 ART Show. Check out this ad by Louise and Tammy and get ready as we showcase some extraordinary talent. Abundant SFS  STARS in our skies!!

RISE UP!

We are now the middle of our Stage 4 lockdown and the finish line is getting closer. It is good to know there is more behind us than in front!!!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel as we heard the Education Minister say this week that he expects school to resume in Term 4. Let's hope cases continue to trend downwards so we can all return back to school and finish 2020 on a high.

We all cannot wait to be free to move around and do all those things that have been on hold and visit all those special family and friends that we are longing to see.

Right now stuck in the middle, our spirits might just be a little low and life may be just a bit of struggle. That's how I was feeling last night, as I was missing seeing my grandchildren. Then in my inbox late last night came a little gem!! A ray of HOPE, a reminder that we will get there.

One of our children with incredible talent joined forces with one of our teachers to create a magical and uplifting moment. I hope you find it just as uplifting and special as I did.

We are truly blessed to be in this special school community during this time. I am so proud of all the wonderful gifts, such as this that surround us at SFS.

All we need is HOPE and for that we have each other.

PS: A second Virtual Choir video is going into production very SOON!
Calling all our STARS to get ready.
Further details will be announced in next week's newsletter!!
What will be the song????

Parents and Teachers the amazing TEAM

We are all appreciative of technology that has enabled remote learning through Google Meets with students. Whilst we would all acknowledge that it is hard, a positive attitude is prevailing and children are learning. A special thank you to the partnership with teachers and parents. This team is always important and when it is in sync the possibilities are endless. Now it is more vital than ever. Well done to our great parent/ teacher team at SFS.

It is great to see many parents book for their Parent/Teacher interview for Thursday 10 September. This will be our only P/T interview for 2020, as Term 1 interviews had to be cancelled.  It is different as everything is this year. It will be a Google Meet. The plus is that you can take 15 minutes out of your time at home or work to meet the teacher. No one needs to drive anywhere. There is a lot to discuss at these interviews as we get ready to make the most of the learning opportunities in Term 4. I encourage parents to book a time with the teacher before Monday 31 August. Teachers will then send you a link to the Goggle Meet so you are set for your interview. This will be a pupil free day to enable the interviews to occur all through the day.

FUN Friday

Fun Friday has been a hit and a way for us all to connect online from Crazy hair to Favorite hats. It is wonderful to see smiling faces, children connecting in the wonderful photos each week.

Next FUN Friday is.......

Keep safe and have a great weekend.
