Supplies for the Art Room

Hi Parents and Friends,

We are looking for a few supplies for the Art room that you may have at home and be happy to donate. The supplies we need include: shoe boxes (with or without a lid) for the Grade 5 and 6 students, newspapers (to cover the tables when painting etc.), meat trays and plastic trays for painting. We also require large cereal boxes and cardboard.

At this stage we don’t need any more egg cartons or glass jars and we can’t use toilet paper rolls.

Thanks for your help. Any donations can be left at the school front office or in the Art room in the donations box under the table.

FREE HOCKEY PROGRAM

PARENT INFORMATION

Dear Parents,

Later this term, students from Blackburn High School will be coming to our school to conduct a series of Hockey coaching programs for Grade 3 -5 students. The leaders are part of a Blackburn High School Sport Leadership program which also involves sport coaching. The program has been running successfully in local schools for over 20 years.

A total of 3 sessions will be held on Wednesday afternoons after school for one hour per week.  All sessions will be held here at the school. All sessions will be free of charge to the primary students and offered to students at our school. All students who enrol in the program will receive a free program T shirt as well as coaching with all equipment supplied. As places in the program will be limited it is essential to return the attached registration form as quickly as possible.  As the sessions will be participation and instructional based all students will be welcome, regardless of whether they have played Hockey before.

The program will conclude with a gala Hockey day at Blackburn High School. On this day, students will participate in Hockey matches with and against other primary schools. A presentation of certificates and sausage sizzle will also be held.

The dates for the sessions at our school are:

Term 1:           Wednesday March 13, 20 and 27th From 3:30 to 4:30

Hockey Gala Day:     Tuesday April 3

Adult supervision will be provided at all sessions as well as the group leaders taking the Hockey sessions. If interested in enrolling your child in this program, please fill out the registration/permission form and return to the primary Sport Co-ordinator as soon as possible. 

It is highly recommended that students purchase a mouthguard for the program. These are available at local chemists for around $8 and are of more than adequate quality for this program. The school can provide shin guards for students or students may bring their own. All sticks and other equipment will be provided.
