Prayer Gathering

Our next community prayer gathering on Friday 6th November will focus on the Catholic Social Teaching concept of a preferential option for those experiencing poverty. The prayer will be shared via the Community Portal on the 6th Nov if you would like to view it.

November 1st is a Feast Day in the Catholic tradition.  It is All Saints Day, a day where we remember and give thanks for the work of all Saints and for the people in our world today who live their lives in service of their faith and in service of others.

Prayer for All Saints Day

Loving God,

We give you thanks for all the saints who loved you and lived their lives in service to you,

whether in brush arbors or cathedrals, weathered wooden churches,

crumbling cement meeting houses or on our streets.

We give you thanks for hands lifted in praise:

manicured hands and hands stained with grease or soil,

strong hands and those gnarled with age,

Holy hands.

We are grateful for those who continue to use their hands, heart and voice in love and compassion.

May we learn how to walk wisely from their examples of faith, dedication and love.

Amen.

14th November marks the beginning of the Hindu Feast of Diwali, more about this in the next newsletter!

Have a happy and relaxing long weekend.

Book Week!

This week we celebrate Book Week! The theme this year is 'Curious Creatures, Curious Minds'. Children have been immersed in the beautiful shortlisted books in their hubs; exploring and responding to the books in different ways. Due to the public holiday this Friday, we are inviting children to Dress up on Friday 30 October instead. Children are invited to dress up as a Book character OR wear 'casual clothes'.
