Father's day Edition
As we have now moved into Step 3 of the Victorian Government's Roadmap to Re-opening, we are now permitted to hold small group Onsite Transition sessions for the children beginning Prep in 2021.
There will be strict protocols in place in regards to numbers, movement within and around the school, and so forth but it's a positive step forward.
These onsite sessions will commence next Friday 6th November and will run for three weeks. We will also be conducting simultaneous online sessions via video conferencing along with family interviews so as to learn a little bit more about each of our new Prep children.
An integral part of our Transition Process is our Kindergarten Visits. Planning for these can also commence under Step 3 of the Roadmap which is great news.
Our planning will allow us to be able to facilitate all this with little disruption to our current Year Prep learning program.
Please don't forget that next Monday 2nd November is a School Closure Day: Staff Professional Development. Children do not attend school on that day.
Please note the Public Holiday scheduled for next Tuesday 3rd November: Melbourne Cup day.
The upcoming 'extended' weekend has come at the perfect time for all! Children, right across the state, seem a little tired as they adjust to full-length school days after such a long stint of learning from home. Our children are no different and while they have settled back into routine beautifully, they too have struggled with the succession of full-length days.
This weekend will be the perfect time for them to re-charge. Early nights and healthy eating will do them the world of good.
It may also be the perfect time to refuel the 'resilience tank'. We have had a number of children recently present at sickbay with various ailments (most without any notable symptoms) and under the current conditions, we need to contact parents to come and collect their children. Well... dare I say it, but maybe not all those who present warrant being taken home. Maybe, just maybe, they have worked out the system.
Anyway, this little 'mid-term break' is a perfect time to have a chat with our little ones about resilience and prepare them for the run to the finish. Just 31 school days to go!
With next week being a short week there will be no Newsletter (hence the later publishing date for this issue)
While there has been so much effort being placed into our 'Return to School Plan' we are also well into planning preparations for 2021. So, to assist with staffing and class groupings we really need to know ASAP if there are any families who are NOT returning to Corpus Christi School next year.
Please contact me directly if your child/ren will not be returning in 2021.
A reminder to all that as we are not permitted to have visitors (other than essential services and maintenance) come on-site, the office will remain closed unless for emergency situations.
Therefore it would be preferred that for all purposes, payments be made via direct deposit or over the phone via your credit card. If these aren't a viable option we will accept debit cards via EFTPOS. Please call the office to arrange a time.
Have a wonderful week
Stay safe and God Bless
