Year 10 Film and TV Narratives
'The Good, The Bad and The Barbie' with Emma, Xavie, Esther and Mila
Last semester in our Film and TV class we were assigned a project where we had to make a short film that we'd enter in a competition. Both Seb Rio and my group made films that were submitted to the International Youth Silent Film Festival, which provides participants with copyright free music that you use as the backing for your movie. We chose the 'western' themed music and decided to make a toy cowgirl showdown.
Both films our class submitted went on to become finalists in the Victorian Regional competition and the film I made with Mila Lawson, Xavie Weis and Esther Wright won second place and will enter the Global competition next year. As you can imagine, this is very exciting for us because our movie, 'The Good, The Bad and The Barbie' was so much fun to film and put together. We couldn't have done it without the help of our teacher, Mr. Ashton and the great media department at school. Needless to say, we all have our fingers crossed for next year!
Emma Salmon 2nd Place winner of the IYSFF Victorian Regionals.
Congrats to all teams in a challenging year for film but especially our two finalists. If you also have a passion for films, photography or harbour long held dreams of streamer stardom, hit up Dean Ashton and Alora Young from Team Media over in B-Block to learn more and see what we have to offer.
