Music Program Planning for 2021

Planning has begun for next year's Music Program and we are seeking confirmation of your child’s participation. A quick reminder regarding Music Program commitments: 

▪ Participation in weekly lessons

▪ Regular home practice 

▪ Participation in weekly rehearsals of a core ensemble 

▪ Participation in all performances of a core ensemble 

▪ Students commit to participate for the whole year. 

Please refer to the Co-curricular Program Policy before signing. 

Missed Work 

Music is a co-curricular program, therefore, it is an expectation of participation that all students ensure they remain up to date with class work. When attending instrumental/vocal lessons, students are expected to ask their classroom teacher what work will be covered when they are not in class and complete this work in their own time. 

Guitar Lessons 

For the first time, NHS will be offering guitar lessons. Similar to all other instrumentalists and vocalists, guitar students will participate in a weekly core ensemble; guitar ensemble. 

Next Steps 

We are really excited about the Music Program in 2021. To support our planning, it would be greatly appreciated if you could complete the form attached below and email them to Kirsten Kelly-Cleeve. Please note that advanced lessons can only occur if there is space in the timetable. We will however, endeavor to accommodate all requests in order of ‘Enrolment Confirmation’ forms being returned.
