Student Service News

Great to see you!

We are so happy to see the all the Year 8, 9 and 10 students back in school, and with the COVID-19 numbers dropping, the possibility of restrictions easing further very soon. It is back to business as usual in M11 with all staff back onsite.

With the return of all students on site this week what a perfect time to remind everyone about the amazing programs available at Darebin Youth Services. They provide programs and services for people aged 12 - 25 years who live, work, study or spend time in the City of Darebin.

National Mental Health Month (1st-31st October) is an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) to advocate for and raise awareness of Australian mental health. The MHFA is an organisation made up of people from all walks of life. It includes professionals, those living with mental illness, families of those living with mental illness, related organisations concerned with mental health and members of the public with an interest in mental health. They frequently run high quality free events, seminars and programs. This week on Friday the 29th October 1-2pm the MHFA are hosting a free online Food Mood and Mental Health Forum. Bookings can be made via trybooking.

This month the Student Services team are walking to make a difference to the lives of people touched by mental illness and suicide. We are fundraising to raise money for life-changing research into treatment and prevention of mental illness, as well as vital support services. So far, we have raised over $1600!!!  If you are able to, it would mean so much to us if you'd support our walk this October.
