Magis report

This coming week sees the opening of the Year 7  Semester Two Personal Project Exhibition on Thursday at 7:30am in the library.  There are some splendid projects, and a program booklet will be available at the event.  The flyer with information is attached below with this newsletter.

The John XXIII Year 8 team competing in the International Debating competition had a fine win over Reddam House College  to remain undefeated.  Round 3 is against Kambala College. Congratulations to the team of Gemma Bailey, Jacob Davila, Thomas Syminton and Max Watt on very impressive performances.

On Monday our Ethics Olympiad team of Meg Derbyshire, Meg Cleary, Sky Pineda-Beasley, Asha Paton and Max Watt will compete all day in this  excellent competition. The team has had to prepare eight different ethical cases on a range of different, often difficult topics.  Meanwhile teams for the National Quest Competition are being finalised.  The event takes place on 19 and 20 November. All three of these major events are competed for via Zoom because of COVID-19.

The Magis Chronicle which highlights reports and photos from all Magis events for 2020 including Interschool Competitions, House events, John XXIII events run by Magis, Breakfasts and the Camp, along with lists of all Award winners, will be ready by late November.  It is a 44 page hard cover glossy book which will be for sale.  The PDF version will be available free to all Magis students.
