Edenhope College 2020 Virtual Awards

I'd like to thank Parents, Grandparents, Guardians, Students and Staff for their efforts in 2020, it has been a very interesting year. I'd also like to thank all the Award sponsors. I'd like to congratulate the graduating classes of 2020. Well done to the Year 6's who have finished their Primary years and I wish the graduating Year 12's all the best with their future learning and their careers. I'd also like to congratulate the Award winners on their efforts and achievements throughout 2020.

By the end of Term 1, 2021 we will have appointed a new Principal. We have also replaced all the departing teachers. I am excited about the quality we have on board and taking us into 2021.

We thank all the staff leaving the College for all they have done during their time all the best. Goodbye and good luck to;

  • Jen Altmann - maternity leave
  • Kara Shuttleworth - moving to South Australia
  • Kat Neall - joining Jon and family in Shepparton
  • Emma Ryan - leaving the area
  • Rachel Tiddy - left at the end of Term 1 for a position in Melbourne

We look forward to see Ian Shaw return in 2021 after some time off. 2020 has also seen us say goodbye to Joy Irving, who is retiring. We also wish James Rowe and his family all the best after moving to Queensland with his family. We thank Nicole McKinnon for her help in covering Kat Close  Maternity Leave during Term 3 & 4.

Casual Relief Teacher's Sarah Jude and Rachel Munro have both been a fantastic asset to the team, helping us out during Term 4, we really appreciate what you've done. Finally thank you to Cassie Stringer who has been with us throughout 2020, thank you.

In 2021, Edenhope College will embed a full elective program for Years 8-10 $60,000 in a targeted tutoring program to help with what 2020/COVID has created, there are obviously some gaps in learning that this program once put in place, will help with.

We are looking to engage The Resilience Project across the whole school, once again to help students with their 2020 experience.

Emma Wallace is the Wellbeing Leader for 2021, and will continue with strong focus on Wellbeing the College has had during 2020.

Edenhope College will embed a new Professional Learning Team (PLT) meeting structure which will be used as platform to build on student engagement. The meeting structure will be used to strengthen a collaborative approach by staff to analyse our curriculum delivery. This has been an action from our school review that has just been completed, looking at strengths and areas for development in all government schools, every four years.

We look forward to opening our new library, which will be really exciting. We hope to have a public opening in 2021.

Finally we are looking forward to engaging students with a full and engaging lunchtime activity program for both primary and secondary students.

Thank you to everyone in our learning community, especially to the Edenhope College staff for the effort they have put in over 2020. I am really looking forward to the 2021school year.

Thank you
