Commencement Classes

Exams are over and students are undertaking Commencement Classes in preparation for 2021.  In effect all students will have tasks and homework that will be required to be completed over the holidays so that on the 1 February 2021 they can hit the ground running.

We ask that students work diligently over the next week as they have multiple classes for each of their subjects. They will have many weeks over the break to work on their tasks and prepare for their studies when they return.  Hardwork now will mean that they will feel organised and prepared for the road ahead.

However they should find time to get some sun, catch up with friends and enjoy the break. It is all that they deserve after the year that everyone has had.

Student Leadership for 2021

We have now appointed our Senior Leadership team for 2021.

Our Lamp Bearers for 2021 will be:

Renee Scothern and Noami Bawi Tha Khun Thang Eng

Our Student Representative Council will be:

  • Tehreem Rana
  • Aishwarya Lakshmi
  • Sarah Varisanthi Sridhar
  • Biak Sui Zanthang
  • Nyat Ebuy

We congratulate all of these students for their achievement and commitment to take on student leadership in 2021. We look forward to working as they bring about change and continue to improve our school community.

We are in the process of finalising our other leadership positions for 2021 including the Years 7 to11 leaders as well.

Awards Night

2020 has been such a challenging year for all of us and many of  the things that we would normally have had to be done differently. This includes our annual Awards Night.

This year it will occur virtually on the 2 December and we look forward to acknowledging all of those students from Years 7-12 who have lived out our Core Values in this most challenging year.

Child Safety

To prepare for 2021 staff at Marian will be revisiting their responsibilities for the care and safety of all our students. This will mean revisiting the standards and expectations that all those working in education have to be aware of and to ensure that students are also aware of their right to feel safe and cared for at school.

Wellbeing over the Christmas Break

With life returning to some sort of COVID normal in Victoria we will need to continue to be vigilant and responsible to ensure that we are able to return to do some of the activities that we did before the restrictions were put in place.

We hope that we all have some time to do activities, including spending time with family and friends, that will rejuvenate our spirits and wellbeing.

Please take care and stay safe.
