Science

We are coming to the end of our first topics in Junior Science at the end of February. All junior classes will have already, or will soon receive their Student Research Projects for the semester. This will be the major assessment for this semester. Testing for students 7-10 this semester will involve a number of formative tests.

Our first excursion this year took place on February 17 when the Year 12 Chemistry students traveled to Charles Sturt University for the day. The students were given an opportunity to use CSU facilities while working with the University staff to complete a range of practical activities found in their Chemistry course. Thanks to Mr. Fitzpatrick for taking these students.

The Rotary Science Challenge takes place March 5 at the College. Students involved will be given the opportunity to work alongside other Riverina school students to design and build a range of structures. These structures and projects will be judged on the day. We hope to have some Year 10 students involved.

All students 7-12 have access to Education Perfect which is an online digital textbook with a range of learning experiences and formative assessment types. 11-12 students also have access to Edrolo online which has up to date material for revision. Year 7-10 have access to STILE activities online. All these resources provide opportunities for students to use in class or when studying.
