From the Principal

Welcome back to Term 2

We did it! We got here and we are so excited!

It is great that we feel like we can all breathe again and see our wonderful students faces. This week has been a wonderful start to term. The curriculum day was a big success with a focus on culture, wellbeing and language.

Adam Voigt presented and talked about creating a positive school culture with a focus on using language as a vehicle. Adam was a great presenter with some really inspirational ideas on how to support our schools and our students.

Sarah Andrews our Speech Pathologist presented some relevant research o oral language and gave us some engaging activities to support the oral language development in all of our classrooms.

The day was a great way for our teachers to start the term ready for learning.

Schools are busy places..

It certainly hasn't felt quite the same for the last few years however schools are busy places. Jam packed with fundraisers and special events and they really kick off this term. We are incredibly excited that we get to welcome families back onsite for our first event our Mother's Day afternoon tea. We are all looking forward to the wonderful interactions that we can have with our community.

This term is our school review which happens every four years. Thank you to many families who have provided feedback that supports in painting the picture of our school now and for the future.

One thing that came up quite a few times was the size of the school. We are a small school and we pride ourselves on that. We too have the same concerns as we want to continue to provide the best education for all of our students. The closing of the local kinder has increased the already challenging ability for us to increase numbers.

We are in the process of trying to facilitate a kinder onsite. Unfortunately the decision doesn't come down to anything simple and it can be a lengthy time before any action is takes. Your school council has already sent a letter of support to the local member. I will continue to keep the community updated as I hear anything.

We are a great school and I will continue to do the nest that I can to ensure that the size of school still allows our students to have every possible opportunity to learn and grow and enjoy their primary school education!

Thanks everyone for your continued support.
