Author Visit – Alex Dyson

Local author and ex-Jamo student, Alex Dyson came to visit the students from Years 3-6 this week. Alex read his recently published picture story book, Eric the Awkward Orc, to the students. The book is about an Orc named Eric, who dances to the beat of his own drum. It contains a powerful message about being yourself and not trying to change just to fit in. The book contains rhyme and the students really enjoyed hearing and discussing it. Alex discussed the writing and editing process with the children and answered their questions about being an author. He also spoke about his fond memories of Warrnambool Primary School and encouraged the students to follow their passions.
