Principal's message

Dear Parents/Carers,
WELCOME BACK- INTRODUCTION
It was very enjoyable watching the students return to school after the holiday break. The weather has been fantastic. I was pleased to visit each classroom and introduce myself.
I’m very excited about returning to Warrnambool Primary School as I taught here from 2000-2008.
Since that time I’ve been Principal at Cobden Primary School with a one-year stint at Terang College P-12.
The Warrnambool Primary School community has a very proud history of strong educational programs in a safe and inclusive environment.
I look forward to continuing our strong partnership with all community members to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
ANZAC CEREMONY
It was my pleasure to attend the dawn service on ANZAC Day with Thomas Fraser and the school leaders; Sonny Hussey, Amiyus Cunningham and Olivia Anderson.
There was a huge turnout at the memorial which is in contrast to the previous two years due to Covid. Sonny, Amiyus and Olivia represented our school very well as they laid a wreath in respect for those who have served our country.
PREP-2 CROSS COUNTRY
We were blessed with warm and sunny conditions for our Cross Country on Wednesday for the Prep-2 students. It’s very important that we impress upon all students the importance of remaining active. The Year 3-6 students will complete their Cross Country on Friday. It was great to see so many parents out supporting their children.
NAPLAN 2022
The National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) commences on Tuesday 10 May 2022 for all Year 3 and 5 students. This Nationally co-ordinated program is undertaken by all government and non- government schools. The aim of the program is to monitor the progress in Numeracy, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation. This Year 5 cohort will be completing their first NAPLAN program.
