Harmony Day 2022 🌈

Here at Sunshine Heights Primary School, we are one but we are many.

We gave our own experiences and backgrounds.

We are unique and individual.

Yet here we are all together, with our differences that build our strong community.

We unite to know, show and grow ourselves.

We are one but we are many.

These words definitely shone throughout the Mental Health week, and especially on the night of the Harmony festival. We were so proud to see the rainbow of students coming together to perform "I am Australian" and "Someone to You". We could really feel the energy coming from everyone.

A special shoutout and congratulations to Maeve and Van from 4A for being brave to be on stage to share their beautiful voices with the school community. An additional shoutout to Mimi, Francina, Claire and Keiko from Grade 3 for joining them on the stage.

Visual Arts Term 1 - Mini Skill Workshops

Throughout the term the grade 1 - 6 students have been exploring the visual arts studio and reconnecting with the 4 main centres; drawing, painting, sculpture and collage. Over 2 sessions, the students explored and played with the materials and completed a mini artwork.

P.E Gymnastics 🤸🏻‍♀️

Sporting Schools is a $400 million Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. As part of this program, Sunshine Heights Primary School was awarded a $3400.00 grant, to deliver a gymnastics program to the students throughout term 1. The students have enjoyed learning new skills and for many this was their first experience with the sport gymnastics.

In term 2 we have successfully gained a second grant of $3200.00 to deliver a program of Ultimate Frisbee!
