David's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had some truly special events in the last few weeks. The Know, Show, Grow Yourself Mental Health festival was an amazing opportunity for many parents and families to connect in to different services. We finished up with an incredible Block Party that saw our students, teachers and parents dance, laugh and reconnect again as a community. I feel we have truly shaken the COVID cobwebs from two years of lockdowns and challenges out of the school. We have to say a massive thank you again to our amazing Wellbeing Lead Teacher, Francine Sculli for her hardworking and dedication bringing this festival and event to life!

If you want to relive some special moments, you can check out the gallery of photographs taken by our School Council President, Sarah Weston. All photos are available at the link below:

You may have noticed that Maté, our crossing man, has finished up after many years supporting our students to cross the road on Mailey Street. We wanted to send him some special messages, so if you are able to use the template below you can draw a picture or write a special message that we pass on to Maté next term.

The end of term means the opportunity to reflect on how far we've come in the past few years, and how different this term was. It has felt long - we really hope that each of you has a restful break to recharge and get ready for term 2. What has been most exciting though has been how reconnected we feel as a community. In school, we have had to remain flexible due to absences for either students or staff who have been impacted by COVID isolation periods. We thank you for your adaptability during these times and I know that your support for our staff and students has helped us get through these bumps in the road. For myself and my family, we are looking forward to a few weeks of hanging out and enjoying some down time - I hope you all get some too!

Best wishes,

David and the Sunny Heights Team
