Ms Wendy McLeod is currently on Long Service Leave taking a well-deserved break. Mrs Beth Madigan is supporting classes in the library during Ms McLeod’s absence. Thanks to Mrs Madigan for her amazing help, and we look forward to seeing Ms McLeod back in Term 2.
Whilst there have been some changes in restrictions in the wider community, there have been only a few changes to school guidelines at this stage. These are mostly in-house guidelines, such as allowing small groups of teachers to meet again for professional learning. Unless there are any major changes for schools announced by the Premier or the Chief Public Health Officer, we will continue to provide on-site learning for children this term, with some learning activities provided for those at home sick or isolating. We are enjoying seeing so many children interacting in person with their teachers and peers at school!
I will release an updated St Paul COVID Guidelines document at beginning of Term 2.
Our classroom teachers are providing learning prompts for children who are home, whether they are sick or in isolation. As we are encouraging families to keep children home for the duration of any illness, we are happy to support with their ability to continue to learn from home. We are providing some extra time to teachers where possible, however please note that our classroom teachers are teaching full time in their classrooms and are not always available to respond to remote learners every day. If your child is home sick for one or two days, they may not necessarily need remote learning activities, but rather may just need a rest to recover from illness. Please keep communicating with your child’s classroom teacher regarding the length of absence so that they can support with remote learning where required.
