Level 1

Level 1 students took the second week of Remote & Flexible Learning in their stride. They found a variety of creative ways to write out their spelling words, continued working on subtraction and addition, and looking at forces, and enjoyed some cosmic yoga sessions, among other activities. They also shared their cooking successes and family game time results. It was great to check-in with each other at our class WebEx meetings, and small-group meetings were also a success. However, the most exciting part of the week was being able to return to school on the Friday!

Back in the classroom, we have started learning about division, and discovered that students in Level 1 are very good at sharing! In Reading, we have been looking at ‘author’s purpose’, such as to inform, persuade or entertain. Writing has involved re-reading work and editing it for punctuation, spelling and meaning. 

On Monday, students will bring their portfolios home and we are looking forward to chatting about these at the three-way conferences this week.

We are also looking forward to Rangeview’s RRRR/eSmart celebration (take 2) on our last day of term. Students are excited about dressing up as a superhero and taking part in activities with their buddy classes.
