Dear Families,

Welcome back from remote learning 5.0. It was great to see the children come through the gates yesterday morning and reunite with friends and staff with great excitement and enthusiasm. These can be trying times but the children's resilience, independence and adaptability is to be congratulated.

In line with the current CECV School Operations Guide for the next two weeks, parents are unable to come into the school grounds. Children are to come through the school gates as per normal with parents waving them goodbye at the gate. We ask that you not congregate at these entrances and maintain social distancing at all times. I know this is challenging for some families but the children were great yesterday and this morning and all moved into class seamlessly. Pick up also went off without a hitch with children being very responsible with knowing what gate they were to be picked up from. For the younger children a reminder from home to stay within the school yard until you are at the gate, would be terrific. We have extra staff out each afternoon assisting with this. Thankyou all!

Please let us know if your children are struggling with coming to school. Often we do not see any signs of struggle or anxiety and it presents itself at home. We are here to help.

A reminder that our Cybersafety Parent evening has been rescheduled to term four and our pupil free day on the 30th August has been cancelled. Our pupil free day on Monday August the 9th is still going ahead.

I am trying to have our Prep 2022 interviews but Covid keeps interrupting our plans. At the moment they are all on hold until we are able to have visitors in the school once again.

The school received a letter of thanks from St Vincent De Paul after the amazing response to the appeal for food. There are many many local families who have benefited from everyone's generosity and Vinnies were extremely grateful. The Preps collected the most food and enjoyed their Free Dress Day yesterday.

I may be on leave next week. With the current state of restrictions it is hard to know what we are able to do. I am supposed to be travelling to Tasmania with my mum and sisters on a trip that has been booked for 18 months and rescheduled twice after we were supposed to be travelling overseas early last year. We are at the mercy of Covid and Health Department restrictions. We have heard the border with Tassie may open tonight, but we will wait and see, hopefully allowing us to travel on Sunday as planned. Please let Mark know if you have any concerns or issues, but I think I may be seeing you all next week.
