Community Hub

Hello everyone, 

 

I am really excited to share the Hub progress with you all. 

 First of all, thank you to the parents who responded to my mini questionnaire, joined the online coffee and chat or spoke with me on the phone. It is helpful to navigate the needs of the school community and to make a plan. If I have not spoken to you yet, feel free to say hello to me during the school drop off / pick up time. 

 

Casey Job advocacy officer

I would like to say thanks to Mr Jayan, Casey Job advocacy officer who has agreed to spend some time on Fridays in Term 3 from 9 am -1 pm to support members of our school community who may require assistance with job training or finding a job. I will send out a flyer next week with more information about this.  If you want to have a one on one session with him please text/call me to book in advance. We already have 2 people booked in to meet him on 16th July. 

 

We have some great exciting things happening in Term 3.

There will be a Morning Tea for parents at the school Hub, 15th and 16th July. Our City of Casey Job advocacy officer will be on-site for those days and the following Friday mornings. 

 

Below are a few other events that are coming up. I would like to hear which days and times suit people so please feel free to contact me so I can take this into consideration. 

  • DIY activities (use what you have at home) for parents and children/parents to share and learn new ideas.
  • Walking club
  • Basic computer classes for adults
  • English conversation for adults
  • Coffee and Craft with Noeline, Doveton College Community Engagement officer and with me. (We had one online session on Friday morning for a trial and I cannot wait to learn to make jewellery beads, crochet, dolls and much more!) Thanks to Noeline and Heather for organising that. If anyone wants to join us please call/text me.

 

All the programs we are aiming to run at Hub are for everyone in the Casey community. If you have any queries please feel free to text/call me on 0452 611 853.
