Founded by Norman W. Buck in Melbourne’s fashion precinct in Flinders Lane in 1947, the BuxWear business originally produced fashion wear for the young women of the post-war era. As the Baby Boom took hold in the 1950’s, Norman W. CATHOLIC DEVELOPMENT FUND

The first Catholic Development Fund (CDF) was established in Melbourne in 1956 for the purpose of raising capital to build Catholic schools. It was originally called the Schools Provident Fund. In a city experiencing a post-war population boom, the Church built the Fund on the faith of the Catholic people, to whom the education of their children was of vital importance. Set up on a co-operative basis, the Fund allowed Catholics living in the more settled parishes of Melbourne to assist schools in the developing areas.

KS ENVIRONMENT

K&S Waste began in 1967, collecting food waste for the family owned pig farm from hotels and cafes around Melbourne. They could see the future of the waste removal industry and by 1999 K & S Waste was a market leader of waste removal and disposal in Melbourne. Fast-forward to 2004 and the company began cutting a new path, changing to KS Environmental. BRONZE

GENEVOSE COFFEE

The Genevose family came to Australia from Italy in 1950. In the late 60’s, Alfio decided that he needed to roast coffee that would resemble the true Italian style coffee that he knew and loved. As a result, A. Genovese & Sons was established in 1970.

From a small factory on Lygon Street, Brunswick, they soon established a following and a need to move. Since 1975 they’ve been at the iconic corner in Coburg, Melbourne. In 2002 the site expanded along Moreland Road into a state of the art Roasting Plant. In late 2013 the site underwent another expansion, with the addition of a second larger roaster and new plant, incorporating green and roasted coffee silos and an automated transport and blending system, a quality control laboratory, and a redesign of the showroom and training facility.

Not only do they remain committed to their heritage, they are advocates of sustainable practices, community initiatives and quality coffee.
