Who Are You?

How would you answer this question?  If we were to meet someone for the first time, we may respond with our names.  But, if you were asked this question by someone who already knew you, I wonder what profound comments you would make about what makes you who you are.

Over the past few weeks the children have been participating in an Inquiry Project around themselves and what makes them who they are.  The exploration of who we belong to has begun with our belonging to a team at Curiosity, to a family, and to the the wider community that is Good Shepherd Lutheran School.

I am a team builder
I share who I am with others
I am responsible and competent
I am creative
I am part of my Blue Team
I am part of Good Shepherd
I am part of a Curiosity team
I am a friend
I am part of a family
I am a team builder
I share who I am with others
I am responsible and competent
I am creative
I am part of my Blue Team
I am part of Good Shepherd
I am part of a Curiosity team
I am a friend
I am part of a family

This has lead us to looking at the finer details of what we look like through observation and recording our portraits.  These portraits will become part of an art exhibition later on this term for you to appreciate.

Belonging to something or someone is a desire of all mankind.  As a Christian Centre, we believe this to be because in God's intent for creation He knew that it was better for a single person to not live alone but to live in union with someone else.  Through union with others we can then grow an appreciation and are motivated to care for the things around us.

God calls each of us to believe in who He says we are.  I pray that you find encouragement in the song and versus from the Bible that explore what it is to be called a 'child of God'.

Blessings to you and your family,
