'Even through Joseph's fears, God's will, his history and his plan were at work. Joseph, then, teaches us that faith in God includes believing that he can work even through our fears, our frailties and our weaknesses. ' Pope Francis

This year's focus is on St Joseph, Spouse of Mary and loving father to Jesus. St Joseph is the patron saint of the Universal Church, Families, Fathers, Married Couples, Workers and the Dying. St Joseph is remembered especially on the Solemnity of St Joseph on March 19th. Let us continue to pray to St Joseph during this Lenten Season.

Our Lenten Journey

It is opportune to consider the words of Pope Francis during our Lenten Journey this year. “To experience Lent with love means caring for those who suffer or feel abandoned and fearful because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In these days of deep uncertainty about the future, let us keep in mind the Lord’s word to his Servant, ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you’ (Isaiah 43:1). In our charity, may we speak words of reassurance and help others to realize that God loves them as sons and daughters.”

The pope emphasized that even a small amount of almsgiving when offered with “joy and simplicity” can multiply, as did “the loaves blessed, broken and given by Jesus to the disciples to distribute to the crowd.”
