Year 11 and 12 Retreats

"Be dreamers who believe in a new humanity, one that rejects hatred between peoples, one that refuses to see borders as barriers"     - Pope Francis

A chance to reflect and bond

Our Year 11 and 12 students joined with key staff in attending 3-day Retreats last week. The Year 11's ventured to Tylden, while our Year 12's were based near Beaufort.

Working in small groups provided an opportunity to reflect, share thoughts and ideas and get to know and understand other students on a new level.

With staff also participating and leading activities it was an opportunity to build relationships that will support our students through their final 12-24 months at the College.

The Year 11 Retreat had a focus on resilience, gratitude and building the bonds of the year level in an environment away from the busy day to day schedules of school, home life, work, sport and socialising.

Students also enjoyed challenging activities that tested them and built confidence.

The Year 12 Retreat provided precious time to pause and reflect and spend time with schoolmates in a beautiful setting at Cave Hill Creek.

Small group exercises enabled all students to reflect on school to date, their busy life and what they are grateful for.

The Retreat was facilitated by Sam Clear - a Tasmanian who trekked 15,600 kilometres across 21 countries encouraging people to pray for Christian unity. He wrote of his adventures in 'Walk4one: Paving a Path to Unity' and he shares the lessons learnt on the journey.

Feedback on the Retreats, from both students and staff, was fantastic and we look forward to the benefits of the experiences supporting our students in their final years of schooling.
