Year 1/2 News
School Concert Superstars!
A great night was had by all at Friday night’s dance concert “Dancing Through the Ages”. There was a buzz of activity behind the scenes in the green room while the students waited for their time on the big stage. The Year 1/2 performances were amazing and the 1/2 teachers felt proud watching them on the stage! After the performances, students could be heard saying:
“That was the best night of my life!”
“I had so much fun!”
“They played all my favourite songs!”
Well done Year 1/2 students on an excellent performance! Bravo!
Writing
Recently, the students engaged with the topic of creating texts for an intended audience. The students began with writing invitations to the school dance concert, ensuring they added all of the features expected in an invitation. This week, we read “The Day the Crayons Quit” and responded to the crayons’ complaints in the form of a letter.
Term 4 Spelling Homework
Next term, your child will bring home a 'Spelling Activities for Homework' rubric stuck into their spelling homework book. The activity sheet will have a variety of activities to help your child learn their spelling words. We ask that you continue to support your child by ensuring that they practise their spelling words on the practise sheet (as usual) as well as complete at least 1 activity on the new activity sheet each week (if your child would like to complete more than one that is fine too).

Parent Helpers in the Classroom
Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to help the students in our learning space next term. We will send out the roster via SkoolBag by the end of this week.
Materials Needed for Investigations
We are seeking donations for our Term 4 Investigation areas. If you are able to donate any of the following items, it would be much appreciated.
- Pots/pans
- Wooden spoons
- Metal bowls
- Large cardboard boxes
Learning Intentions & Timetables
The Year 1/2 Learning Intentions for Term 4, Weeks 1 & 2 have not been included in this edition of the newsletter. Teachers will be working on these throughout the holidays.
The Learning Intentions will be posted via Skoolbag once we return to school in Term 4. Thank you for your understanding.
