LIGHT of HOPE

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School School Improvement Survey (MACSSIS)

A number of families have been invited to participate and complete a School Improvement Survey sent out by the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School (MACS) via the secure and purpose-built online platform.

Your feedback is invaluable to our progress as an effective school community and is backed by evidence-based research and best practices. MACSSIS is a set of surveys that have been built specifically for Catholic schools in Melbourne by the Learning Services team at MACS, in partnership with researchers at Learning First and in wide consultation with principals in our schools.

Your feedback is critical to understanding how our school is performing. This data is extremely beneficial for our school as it is used to set goals and make future predictions for improving all aspects of our learning community.

To the randomly selected St. Raphael's Primary School families that have been asked by MACS to participate and complete the survey, we kindly remind you that the MACSSIS survey must be completed by Friday 16th September.

Your responses and feedback count!

First Eucharist

Saturday 8th October at 3 pm.

The First Eucharist Celebration Ceremony will be held in St Raphael Parish Church, with no restrictions on the number of attendees per family. As a school, each communicant will be allocated a pew. (The church pew can sit up to 12 adults). All organisational matters regarding the day will be communicated and detailed in a notice to families before the end of the term.

Whole School Assembly and Level Masses

We welcome the opportunity to be able to gather together as a community and celebrate whole school events, particularly assemblies and Masses.

Next term, the school will open the school gate (Breen St) at 2.30 pm before every assembly and provide the opportunity for parents/families to socialise and get to know one another in an informal manner.

Assemblies will be held on fortnightly Fridays at 2.45 pm in the school hall on wet weather days and outdoors on days filled with sunshine.  We invite all families to join us on this fortnightly occasion where the children's learning and achievements are celebrated and recognised as a community.

Next term a new roster for level Masses will be published in the newsletter;-families are welcome
