Child Safety Standards

Congratulations to Charli Aboujaber who raised $1025.00 in total for the MS Readathon. You may recall that Charli and her aunt presented at an assembly a few weeks ago about the debilitating disease, Multiple Sclerosis. Charli has been reading furiously these past few months and raised well above her goal of $500.00. Thank you to any St Justin's families who assisted Charli in this endeavour!

R U OK? Day

Yesterday was RUOK? Day and at St Justin's we acknowledged this day with a beautiful prayer and song, as well as some important strategies to try out if we think our friends or loved ones are not ok.

We have to remember, life’s ups and downs happens to all of us, which means there might be times when your friends or loved ones aren’t at their best. When you notice one of your friends isn’t themselves, asking them how they’re going and supporting them can make a difference.

We all have what it takes to ask a friend “Are you OK?” You don’t need to be an expert or solve every problem. Just listening and showing them that you care might be just what they need to help them through.

Let's Pray together...

We walk together in hope,

Just as Jesus walked with others and asked them

what they needed. Today we pray that we may be guided by

the Spirit to do the same.

 We walk together in compassion,

We walk with those who feel lost, overwhelmed or alone.

And we endeavour to create a space where others can be real.

We walk together in love,

We listen, because people matter. We walk with each other,

because connection matters.

And we ask “RUOK”, because we care.

We reach out,

We reach out in love to those we know.

We pray for those we cannot reach.

And we practice self-compassion, as we carry our own pain.

We ask each other “R U OK?”

Leaving space for more to say.

We trust that God is walking with us every step of the way

Whispering to our hearts,

“Do not be afraid, I am with you.”

We hold each other, today, in love.

And we are held in love by the Compassionate One.

Today we stand together, held in love.

Let’s sing together:

Walk Each Other Home by Timothy Hart

One week to go...

With only 1 week to go in Term 3 there is no doubt everyone is feeling a little bit worse for wear! The children are exhausted, as are their teachers, but we still have one more week to get through which means we really need to tap into our positive growth mindset bag of tricks to help us get there!
