ROUND 5

Game 1 - Wandarra Warriors vs Kambara Kings

Wandarra warriors won the tap and quickly followed up with a foul, resulting in Kambara’s ball. Wandarra then stole the ball but Kambara quickly retrieved it and passed it onto Reagan, who narrowly missed the goal. Unluckily for the Warriors, Chappy got the ball and scored. This was followed closely by another foul against Wandarra, giving Annie 2 free shots, both of which were missed. Harry Welsh then scored for the Warriors, before there was another tap, resulting from a small wrestle between Tom and Harry. Wandarra then shot another goal, before the absolute gun that is Chappy, got the ball and shot another, adding to Kambara's tally. Grace was subbed on but after some good playing, unfortunately missed a goal. Chappy, however, continued adding to Kambara's tally, resulting in them taking home the win.

Game 2 - Taltarni Thunder vs Tanaranga Taipans

The game featured the top two contenders, Tanaranga Taipans  and Wandarra Warriors. Taipans won the tap, leading to Tatchell getting an early goal before Thunder also got some points on the board. Further into the game, Tatchell threw the ball to Ethan, who promptly fell over. The subs then came on, with Trai Drinkwater stepping up to play for the second time. The final minutes saw both teams scoring well, before the end of the half.

Tatchell again found some early points for the Taipans at the start of the second half while Taltarni Thunder were struggling to find the right combination, subbing a total of six times. Phoenix started shooting for the other team when he headed to the wrong end, causing an uproar from fellow players and onlookers alike. Eastyn shot a goal with just a few minutes to spare and despite Taltarni scoring the last goal, the Taipans went on to take the win.

SRC Updates

At the end of Term 3, SRC students held a B.B.Q. and Footy Colours/Casual Clothes Day. Everyone came dressed in their footy finest and contributed a gold coin to help raise money for Year 11 student, Patrick Andrews' trip to South Korea, for his much anticipated 'Scout Jamboree'. Students enjoyed a free B.B.Q. lunch and enjoyed listening to music on the newly purchased JBL Partybox, which was purchased with funds raised from the Wood Raffle earlier in the year. It was a  fantastic way to close the term, with everyone braving the weather to show off their footy colours. Approximately $150 was raised for the day and Patrick is very grateful to be a little closer to achieving his goal.
