R U OK? DAY

On Wednesday the 7th of September, Eastyn Carr, James Broadbent, Jack Wheeler, and Zac Dally organised a mental health day fundraiser. We started in the morning with bacon and egg sandwiches and followed it up with a B.B.Q. lunch. Eastyn also ran a mullet competition, in which students would judge the overall best mullet. Lachlan Fraser was the lucky winner, taking away a salon voucher kindly donated by “Faye’s Hair Formation”.

Staff and students were asked to add a “touch of yellow” to their school uniform for the day. Participants donated a gold coin which, along with the sale of the R U OK? Day merchandise, will be forwarded to the R U OK? Day foundation and The Black Dog Institute.

We would like to thank Miss Henry and Mrs Newberry for all their help and support to bring everything together, our students and staff for their support, as well as the incredibly generous, anonymous donor, who donated all the food and drinks for both the breakfast and lunch. This selfless gesture not only made the day possible but also made it a great success, seeing us raise $416.50.
