It’s that exciting time of year again…Sports Day!
The students are preparing themselves to participate in possibly the most thrilling sports day of all time. Without spoiling the surprise, we have two new tabloid events this year that are set to both stretch and delight the students.
A&A’s Marvellous Eats will be open to visitors throughout the day. Please contact Namoi on our school Facebook page should you be able to donate time to assist in the canteen on the day.
Thanks to Noarlunga United Soccer club who are once again supporting us by running the Soccer games and clinics on sports day.
If your child is considering playing soccer this season here are the trial dates and times for our local club.
Thanks also go out to Wirreanda Secondary School Specialist Sports Course students who will be assisting at the events on the day.
Hackham Hawks will once again be running the Aussie Football event. Special thanks to Jason Castleman who always runs a fantastic clinic for our R to year 2 students and his time management with the upper primary games is unparalleled.
Unfortunately, Rugby SA are unable to assist us this year however, our local club South Adelaide Bulldogs will be stepping in to take their place, so a big shout out to them for being such a fantastic contribution.
And we are super excited to announce our brand-new event and supporting association…
Can’t wait to see how this challenges our students!
Term 3 is a massive term for our HPE curriculum and extra curriculum activities.
This term in HPE the students are studying Net/wall games. In the first five weeks we played lobster ball (a version of handball) and Pickle ball, which is a relatively new game invented in the USA. It’s a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis, played with a lager paddle and a wiffle ball. The students enjoyed it immensely and excelled in their progress over this time. We are now moving on to Volleyball and using some of our sporting schools grant we have Volleyball SA running clinics for the students from weeks 6 to 9. In-between all of that we will also be preparing for sports day and familiarising the students with the up coming events.
On Tuesday the 6th of September our Athletics team will compete is the SA Sports district Athletics comp held at Tatachilla Lutheran Collage. Congratulations to the following students for making the team and good luck for your event.
Crows Cup girls 9 aside football carnival will be played at the South Adelaide Football Club on Wednesday the 7th of September. The girls participated in a preparation clinic on Thursday and look like they could have a chance at doing quite well on the carnival day. Congratulations to the following students for making the team.
