Trades

Stephen Prangnell

Head of Trades

At this stage of the year in Trades we are trying to wrap up all of the year's work. Some students are taking advantage of every opportunity and are starting their major projects. In Furnishing these are well under way already and good progress is being made.

In Engineering a few motivated students have completed their Year 11 work requirements and are getting started on their major projects. It is great to see the enthusiasm these students are showing. On larger projects parents should expect Project Permission forms and possibly invoices depending on the project.

Automotive students are working through their job cards and completing competencies. There are also some projects underway. Students have been installing some engines onto stands and are in the process of getting them running and work is progressing on the old Landcruiser with the V8 engine mounts done.

Construction students are working on a variety of projects in the workshop and are in the process of installing 4 large commercial umbrellas across the campus for extra shade as the weather starts warming up. There has been a fair bit of digging and some large concrete footings put in place to support these structures.
