Principal's Message

Term 4 Week 5

Welcome back everyone!

It's a short week but what a great week - now that we have everyone back at school.

Students may now enter/exit through the gate that works best for their family. Please make sure you have firm arrangements with your children of where to meet. This should alleviate the congestion around the entries/exits and ensure students and parent do not need to cross paths with other families. Please use the crossings to facilitate social distancing also.

Foundation 2022 Information Evening

As restrictions ease we are allowed to hold certain events following density limits and vaccination requirements. Our first event will be Foundation 2022 Information evening next Thursday 18th November at 7pm in the school Hall. One parent only may attend and further information will be emailed to families this week.

Parent Payments 2022

School Council has approved the Parent Payments for 2022. The DET Parent Payments Policy outlines the ways in which school councils can request financial contributions from parents and ensures that parent payment practices in schools are consistent, transparent and that all children have access to the Curriculum. A summary and links to the DET Policy are included in the below information.

Links are also on the MPRPS website.

Within our school your support has allowed us to offer enrichment and intervention programs and extracurricular experiences, and continue to provide the quality and range of educational programs and resources that you and the school expect for your child.

Notifying the school of positive case of COVID19:

A reminder that if you, your child, or a family member develops symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested at a COVID-19 testing facility and stay home. Each family should regularly check the list of public exposure sites in Victoria, and if anyone in the family has attended a site at the times listed, follow the instructions given. If your child or a family member tests positive to COVID-19 you must contact the school immediately via phone 98781730 and/or outside office hours via the school email address at mt.pleasant.road.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

Class Placement for 2022

Teachers put a great deal of thought into class placement for all students. The aim is to create balanced classes and take into consideration individual needs, as well as friendship options, to allow for the best possible outcomes for all students.

Every student will be asked for friendship preferences and every effort is made to give them at least one friend from their list. Apart from friendship groups teachers will take into consideration the behaviour, academic achievement levels, gender balance and social and emotional needs of students. If you have a request to be taken into consideration for your child to support their education then please submit this in writingby emailing me at the school email address mt.pleasant.road.ps@education.vic.gov.au to by Friday  November 12th as teachers will then commence creating classes.

Moving House

If you child will not be attending Mount Pleasant Road in 2022 (other than current Year 6 students) please notify the school in writing and include the name of the new school if know. This helps us to organise a smooth transition for your child and assists us greatly with class planning.
